The Naranag valley is noted for its scenic meadows. The village is a base camp for trekkers to the Mount Haramukh, the Gangabal Lake and Satsar (the seven lakes).

Places to Visit in Naranag:

Temples: It is one of the important archaeological sites of the country. The site consists of a cluster of temples facing each other at a distance of about 200 meters. Historians say that the temple is dedicated to Shiva

Gujjar huts: Shepard’s huts built into the hills, Naranag, Kashmir
Gangbal Lake: The Gangabal Lake, also called Haramukh Ganga, is an alpine high-altitude oligotrophic lake situated at the foot of Mount Haramukh in the Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir, India. The lake has a maximum length of 2.5 kilometres and maximum width of 1 kilometre.
Mount Haramukh: It is also known as 'Kailash of Kashmir' According to the legend of "Hurmukhuk Gosoni", once a hermit tried to reach the summit of Harmukh to see Shiva face to face. For twelve long years, he tried to scale the summit but failed until one day he saw a Gujar descending the summit.
Dumail: Dumail is a pristine and beautiful camping spot near Naranag. Dumail can be reached by 2 hours trek from the village. The trail leading to Dumail is absolutely gorgeous running along the river and through thick coniferous forest interspersed by a few Gujjar settlements.
