Yusmarg: The Meadows of Jesus

Meadows of Jesus or Yusmarg is known for its long stretches of green pastures. An ideal tourist attraction that in its humblest of ways teaches to revere nature, Yusmarg is a proud part of the Valley of Kashmir.

Places to Visit in Yusmarg:

Charar-e-Shariff: Charar-i-Sharief is considered one of the most sacrosanct Muslim shrines in Kashmir. It is situated approximately 28 km (17 mi) from Srinagar, en route to Yusmarg. The Shrine of Charar-i-Sharief is approximately 600 years old. It is popularly known as the resting place of "Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Wali"
Doodhganga River: Doodh Ganga, translating to “River of Milk,” is a serene watercourse that meanders through the heart of Yusmarg, adding to the tranquility of the surroundings. The river is fed by melting snow from the surrounding mountains, contributing to its crystal-clear and refreshing waters.
Sang-e-Safed Valley: On the route to Sang-e-Safed, tourists can visit several other meadows, such as Haigin and Liddermar. Haigin is an extremely picturesque meadow situated around 4 km from Yusmarg. Sang-e-Safed, meaning white rocks, is surrounded by large pine trees and makes for a popular picnic spot.
Lidder Mad: These are two meadows, 4 km from Yusmarg that fall on the way towards Sang-e-Safed. You can visit these two meadows and then come back to Yusmarg if you are short on time. Remember, trek to Sang-e-Safed can only be done if you are staying at Yusmarg or if you are having your camping gear
